Radja
Nainggolan had been linked with a move away from Roma.
Roma
president James Pallotta has hinted that Radja Nainggolan is about to sign a
new contract with the Serie A club.
Speaking
to reporters at Rome's Ciampino airport before returning to Boston, American
businessman Pallotta said he will fly back to the United States with the
knowledge that Nainggolan will not be leaving the club this summer.
The
Belgium international has recently been linked with moves to Inter Milan and
Manchester United, with former Roma coach Luciano Spalletti reportedly keen to
be reunited with him at Inter.
"Did
you not see that he [Nainggolan] was smiling yesterday?" Pallotta told reporters.
Asked for
confirmation if that meant the midfielder had reached an agreement with Roma,
Pallotti said: "Yes."
Nainggolan
had earlier told reporters asking about a potential contract renewal that he
was "smiling" after a meeting with the club's sporting director
Monchi, which lasted just over half an hour.
He has
played 161 Serie A games for Roma and scored 27 goals since joining them from
Cagliari in 2014.
